It is an recognized meeting spot for an intensive exchange of information on the current status of environmental technology and the dissemination of know-how.

The lectures and workshops are embedded within the trade fair and are taking place over the entire show period.

All speeches will be translated simultaneously into English and Chinese. The attendance is free of charge for participants of IFAT CHINA 2008.

Technical-Scientific Conference

Chinese and international experts from the environmental technology sector focus in their lectures and workshops on the central topics of water supply, waste water, solid waste, renewable energy and air. The conference has a practical focus which fits in well with the interests of the visitors and exhibitors at IFAT CHINA 2008.

This conference program is organized by the German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) and the China Association of Resources Comprehensive Utilization (CARCU).


CARCU-Forum

China Emissions and Resources Utilization Forum 2008
The forum targets at audience who is interested in Resources Comprehensive Utilization. Key-note speakers from NDRC as well as other local authorities will introduce the national measures and regulations on this.


Environment Special

Experts and government agencies highlight the environmental protection programs of the Bavarian government and its partners. The Environment Special is held under the patronage of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment, Public Health and Consumer Protection, Germany.


Asia Special

This Special is devoted to the environmental markets in Asia. Its aim is to promote the exchange of information on the current status of environmental technology and to highlight prospects for the exchange of know-how between the People’s Republic of China, Japan, Vietnam and Germany.
These specials are the perfect forum to establish and foster business ties for the transfer of know-how and for an international exchange of knowledge and experience among scientists and business representatives from around the world. Experts will discuss specific projects from various points of view, i.e. technical aspects, political issues, business concerns and others.


Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Environmental Technology/Equipment Development Forum

BHI as organizer for this event is a website under NDRC, who serves as a major channel for overseas and domestic enterprises to exchange information of construction projects. The program focuses on the hot topic of “Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)”, including the project process and its implementation status in China.
The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) provides a coordination mechanism for controlling emissions of greenhouse gases for all mankind, and changes the traditional mode of high-energy-consuming and high-pollution economic growth into the low-energy-saving, low-emission and low-carbon economy, thus becoming a major strategic choice of all countries in the world in economic development.
What new requirements are raised and what new opportunities are ushered in by CDM for the development of environmental technology services and equipment manufacturers?


Sino-German Green Business Day
and Signing Ceremony for PREMAnet China

At the IFAT Shanghai 2008 the Environmental Policy Programme of GTZ China and NDRC, in cooperation with the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and the German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) Shanghai (econet project) , will hold a high-level event on 23rd September 2008, the "Sino-German Green Business Day".
PREMAnet China, a network of trainers and companies who have been applying the tool of Profitable Environmental Management, will be launched with this celebratory event. Key note speeches will be held et al. by Mrs. Astrid Klug (Parliamentary State Secretary, BMU) and Professor Dr. Klaus Töpfer (Former Executive Director UNEP).
