Premiere – Science-Tec Area and New-Tech Area at IFAT CHINA

IFAT CHINA this year is featuring two premieres: the 'Science-Tec Area' and the 'New-Tech Area'. These stands are presentation platforms specially for research institutions, colleges and universities.

At the 'Science-Tec Area' in Hall E5 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, international colleges and universities will have a chance to present their latest projects and research findings. The Chinese universities will be doing the same in the 'New-Tech Area' in Hall E6.

So far, for the 'Science-Tec Area', registrations have been received from six research establishments and universities from Germany. Among them are the University of Regensburg (Institute for Physical and Theoretical Chemistry), the University of the Bundeswehr, Munich (Institute for Water Engineering) and the Fraunhofer Applications Center for System Technology. This universities stand is being organized by the TU Berlin Servicegesellschaft; the contact person for universities interested in participating is Mr. Horst-G. Meier (Dipl.-Ing.).

In total six Chinese universities have registered for the 'New-Tech Area' initiated by Professor Dr. Edgar Schicker of the University of Nuremberg. They include – amongst others – the Department of Environmental Engineering of Shanghai Normal University, the College of Environmental Science & Engineering of Tongji University and the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Donghua University.

Visitors to IFAT CHINA 2008 who wish to find out about the research work and projects of the universities, will be able to discuss issues in detail with the experts in these areas.

For their part the exhibitors and companies can make use of the 'Science-Tec Area' and the 'New-Tech Area' to find out about the latest techniques and processes that the universities are developing. Both university stands represent a unique platform for visitors and exhibitors seeking to exchange information and make new contacts.

Taking place in parallel with IFAT CHINA 2008 in Halls E4 and E5 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre is the fourth analytica China, International Trade Fair for Analysis, Biotechnology, Diagnostics, Laboratory Technology and Services.
